Utilize the Power Smart Appliance Rebate Program When Replacing Old Appliances

One of the best ways to freshen up your newly purchased home is to replace the old, unattractive and inefficient appliances, such as your fridge, freezer, and dishwasher, with sparkling new ENERGY STAR® labeled appliances.

Newer appliances tend to take up less exterior space, are quieter, are more energy-efficient and effective, and are visually more appealing.

However, the biggest bonus is that BC Hydro, in partnership with Fortis BC, is offering up to $75 mail in rebates on qualified ENERGY STAR labeled dishwashers, clothes washers, refrigerators and freezers. This popular Power Smart Appliance Rebate Program ends December 31, 2011.

Below is a list of eligible appliances types and the rebate amount:

Select ENERGY STAR® labelled clothes washers	$75*
Select ENERGY STAR® labelled refrigerators	$50
Select ENERGY STAR® labelled dishwashers	$25
ENERGY STAR® labelled freezers	$25

In order to receive your rebate, your new appliance(s) must be purchased and ordered before December 31, 2011, and the signed mail-in rebate must be submitted within 90 days of purchase. A rebate cheque is generally mailed back to you within 10 – 12 weeks.
