Finding Solutions: Stakeholder Forum on Properties Used in Drug Operations

All around BC, sales of homes that have been used for growing marijuana or producing other drugs are frustrated because lenders won't provide financing and insurance companies won't provide insurance. Many communities have created procedures to disclose information about these homes, and to remediate them to make sure they're safe. However, the wide variety of approaches taken by local governments causes confusion for real estate sellers, buyers, renters and others.

On November 23, 2016, BCREA will host a stakeholder forum to gain a better understanding of the concerns of lenders and insurers regarding properties used in drug operations, and to identify next steps to improve the disclosure and remediation of properties used in drug operations.
